Situated directly on Bentota Beach, Taj Bentota Resort & Spa offers a unique blend of colonial architecture and local design, featuring red-tiled roofs and a terraced infinity pool with a sunken bar. The resort is approximately 1-2 km from Aluthgama and 90-108 km from Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB).
The resort features 160-162 modern guestrooms, each designed for comfort with air conditioning and a private sit-out, balcony, or terrace offering views of lush gardens and the Indian Ocean. Rooms are equipped with memory foam beds, down comforters, Egyptian cotton sheets, refrigerators, iPod docking stations, and 42-inch LCD televisions with satellite programming. Please note: Taj Bentota Resort & Spa will undergo Phase 3 Enhancements from May 15 to September 15, 2026. This renovation will affect Block A and Block D, closing 56 rooms (Deluxe Garden, Deluxe Sea View, Garden Terrace categories) and specific floors. Work will occur daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, involving full room renovations and the use of power tools. Efforts will be made to minimize noise and dust with screening and barricades. Guests will be accommodated in the renovated Block C, and all major facilities, including The Palms restaurant, Pool Bar, Gym, and Kids’ Club, will remain open.
