La Playa Hotel, known as the "Grande Dame of Carmel," is a historic artist’s home-turned-hotel that originally began as a luxurious mansion built in 1905. Following an extensive $20 million renovation completed in Fall 2023, the hotel now offers a modern luxury experience intertwined with historic charm. This award-winning property, featured in publications like Vogue and Travel + Leisure, is located in Carmel's prestigious Golden Rectangle, just steps from the Pacific coastline's white sands and the renowned shops, galleries, and restaurants of downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea. The hotel features 75 tastefully enhanced guest rooms, all of which are air-conditioned and include a flat-screen TV, refrigerator, and minibar. Each room also boasts a custom Barmoire for a curated cocktail experience, electric kettles, and complimentary tea and instant coffee.
